Founded in 1978, the Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences GSCASS is one of China's earliest institutions for graduate programs, boasting a comprehensive suite of disciplines in ities and social sciences. Authorized to provide extensive degree programs, GSCASS offers 16 national-level first-level disciplines with doctoral degrees and 17 master's level disciplines, accompanied by 115 doctoral sub-disciplines, 120 master’s sub-disciplines, and 7 professional master’s sub-disciplines.

Over the past four decades, GSCASS has dedicated itself to nurturing outstanding students who are driven to develop advanced academic expertise and exceptional research capabilities. University of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences - A New Era of Talent Development for ities and Social Sciences

Approved by the central government of China, the University of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences UCASS was established in May 2017 based on GSCASS, leveraging its robust research strength and faculty resources. With undergraduate and graduate programs now fully operational, UCASS marks a new era dedicated to nurturing young talents in ities and social sciences who are equipped with the knowledge and skills essential for pursuing academic excellence.

The University features 39 departments offering graduate programs across 14 schools, providing opportunities in doctoral degrees with 116 majors, master's degree majors totaling 122, professional master’s degree majors of 8 each, and bachelor's degrees encompassing 34 fields. Currently, UCASS enrolls students for 15 major programs.

UCASS is home to a distinguished group of 773 doctoral supervisors and 1,205 master's degree supervisors drawn from the entire pool of researchers across the Academy. Additionally, 287 renowned professors were invited to serve as undergraduate academic tutors at UCASS, while 106 prestigious scholars and researchers including 8 CASS Members are appointed as distinguished professors of the University.

As a university with two campuses, UCASS is headquartered in Liangxiang District with its Liangxiang Campus located at No. 11 Changyu Street, Fangshan District, Beijing 邮编: 102488, and is complemented by its Wangjing Campus situated northeast of downtown Beijing.
