Southeast Missouri State University has announced a new unit, Online and Graduate Services, med at strengthening its focus on recruitment, streamlining operations, and enhancing support for domestic graduate students. This strategic reorganization is a testament to the university's commitment to innovation and adaptability in meeting the needs of modern learners.
Dr. Chelsea McNeely, who previously headed Early College Programs and Southeast Online, will now lead the new Online and Graduate Services unit under Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Success, Dr. Debbie Below. In her role, McNeely ints to concentrate on attracting, educating, and graduating domestic graduate students online while mntning comprehensive support for international graduate students through International Education and Services.
The creation of this unit will facilitate close collaboration between the university's academic departments, faculty members, service departments, external partners, and vors. The m is to ensure that Southeast Missouri State University's online and graduate programs remn competitive and accessible, offering a seamless experience from recruitment to graduation for both domestic graduate students and online learners.

Aligning with Institutional Goals
This reorganization is part of a comprehensive effort to enhance SEMO's internal structures in response to evolving student needs, as advised by the Enrollment Transformation Task Force established earlier this year by President Dr. Carlos Vargas. The task force identified several critical areas for improvement that would help strengthen institutional performance and foster campus-wide collaboration.
As part of the restructuring plan:
Early College Programs will recruit a full-time director and remn under the Office of the Provost in Academic Affrs.
The Center for Teaching and Learning CTL will add a full-time director and an additional instructional designer to support faculty development and contribute to the unit's mission of delivering high-quality educational experiences.
The Provost’s Office will also initiate a search for a full-time Program Specialist or Project Manager to assist with academic logistics, specifically focusing on program growth and new program launches. This position will play a crucial role in streamlining processes, supporting graduate studies operations, and identifying opportunities for optimizing academic resources.
