Lingnan University and South China Normal University Launch Pioneering Study Trip in Greater Bay Area

Lingnan University has officially embarked on its pioneering two-week study trip for graduate students from the Greater Bay Area Studies Concentration at South China Normal University SCNU, marking an inaugural collaboration between Lingnan University's School of Graduate Studies and a leading 211 Project institution within the Greater Bay Area, China. This educational partnership will last from March 11 to March 28, 2024.

The strategic alliance is a testament to the joint efforts in enhancing students' academic understanding and cultural insights into the Greater Bay Area GBA. The immersive study trip combines rigorous academic pursuits with practical experiences that illuminate the region's economic, social, and cultural dynamics.

On March 11, SCNU welcomed the Lingnan students with warmth at an opening ceremony. Senior officials from SCNU atted, including Zhang Yihua, Secretary of the Party Branch of the International Business School; Zhang Zhen, Deputy Dean of the International Business College; Shen Liling, Deputy Director of Hong Kong, Macao Twan Affrs Office; WU Jianli, Dean of the School of International Business at SCNU; Zhuang Huijuan, Vice Dean of International Business College; and YUN Qiaoyun, Vice Dean of International Business College. Secretary Zhang emphasized that this collaborative program between Lingnan University's Master of Arts in China and Regional Studies Greater Bay Area Studies signifies a strategic move to realize national guidelines on the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao GBA, enhancing internationalization efforts and talent cultivation standards at SCNU.

Dean Wu underscored the significance of international education, expressing hope for sustned cooperation with Lingnan University that would contribute to global talent development and innovative educational.

Dr. Erica Lau, Associate Director of Lingnan University's School of Graduate Studies, conveyed sincere gratitude towards SCNU for their hospitality and expressed optimism about this partnership's future.

This inaugural study trip for the 20 students represents a milestone in international academic collaboration. The partnership between Lingnan University's School of Graduate Studies and SCNU's International Business College symbolizes significant potential in global higher education through fostering new avenues for academic exchange, cultural understanding, and talent development.
