Procedure for International Students Returning to Huazhong Agricultural University

The following guidelines outline the steps you should follow when planning to return to Huazhong Agricultural University HZAU.

Application Process

To commence your return, fill out a Consent Form, which will detl pertinent policies and important matters. Carefully read this form, sign it indicating your agreement with its conditions, and then submit it to the International Student Office ISO. Upon ISO's consultation with your supervisor, they will issue a Notice of Clearance NOC for you.

Visa Application

Upon receiving the NOC and other documents from HZAU, proceed to apply for your visa at the Chinese embassy in your country. Inform ISO and your supervisor immediately after acquiring your visa.

r Ticket Booking

The cost of r tickets is borne by each student individually. Upon purchasing your ticket, please notify ISO with your rline detls including flight number, entry date, and arrival city.

Please avoid returning to HZAU between January 12th and February 11th, as this period coincides with winter break when there may be limited service support avlable for new arrivals.

Confirmation and WeChat Group Engagement

Upon confirming your flight arrangements, join the appropriate WeChat group designated by your return date. This will enable you to stay connected with ISO throughout your preparation process.

Health Insurance Purchase

Before departure, it is mandatory that all international students secure health insurance indepently. The annual premium is set at 800 yuan for the entire academic term. Scholarship holders are eligible for a refund from HZAU upon return to campus.

Quarantine Requirements

Upon entry into China, overseas personnel must adhere to government-mandated quarantine measures consisting of a 7+7 control system. This entls:

  1. Centralized Medical Observation: 7 days upon arrival at your point of entry.

  2. Home Health Monitoring: An additional 7 days post-centralized observation, conducted within the university's hotel premises.

Following this period, individuals will transition to personal health monitoring in dormitories for another 7 days, restricting unauthorized outings unless absolutely necessary. All associated quarantine expenses are covered by the individual at an estimated cost of around RMB 5400. It is advisable to prepare this amount beforehand and ensure your credit cards and bank cards function properly.

Residence Permit Application

All international students must apply for a residence permit within 30 days post-entry into China, fling which they will be subject to fines at the rate of RMB 500 per day. that family visas are not eligible for conversion to study visas upon entry.
